Teaming with You to Make
Sure You Get the Right Care
There is no one-size-fits-all solution
Each artificial limb is custom built to your specific needs and goals. You’ll quickly learn that for every prosthetic device we craft, a great number of variables are taken into consideration:
What was the nature and cause of your amputation?
Was it from an injury or because of disease?
Are you likely to have additional problems from your disease or trauma in the future?
How active were you before surgery?
How active do you expect to be now?
The why we work very closely with you at every step of your care. Working with you as a part of the team is how we make sure you get the prosthetic device that is right for you.

Providing the Knowledge of Someone Who Has Been Where You Are
Early on in your care you’ll have the opportunity to meet and talk with some of our other patients who have had a condition similar to yours, as well as have the option to meet with a peer certified counselor. Many of our patients have found it helpful and reassuring to share thoughts and even fears and concerns with someone else who has gone through the challenges you are experiencing today.
Afterwards patients often tell us that this part of the care was one of the most important keys to getting their lives back on track.
Partnering with your doctor and physical therapist to get you active again
A very important aspect for the care you receive at SPOC is the way we interact with your doctors, therapists and other medical professionals helping you move on to the next phase of your life.
We are available to join your team BEFORE your surgery occurs as well as after. We work with your doctor to help prepare you for your prosthetic device from the very start. We consult with your doctor frequently and keep him or her informed as your care proceeds. Likewise, we will work closely with your physical therapist. If helpful, we will even attend your therapy sessions to make sure your prosthesis is functioning properly as you go through the rehabilitation process. This also helps us to identify any problems quickly so that adjustments can be made immediately.
